{August 21, 2008}   Shamefull

Forgive me, I’m still a little out of the loop and trying to get caught up on US news and work, but I couldn’t ignore this.

The fact that nearly every nation within the IOC voiced concern over how China would govern the games, and that, more or less, everyone knew riots and protests and censorship and cheating could or would happen, and yet the IOC gave them the games anyways, perhaps thinking that maybe – just maybe – the Chinese government wouldn’t bugger it up, ticks me off just as much as the censorship and the rest of the bullshit.

Oh well, as I observed at the Peace Museum in Normandy, totallitarian states really love to ignore history. Apparently the IOC likes to ignore history as well.

It’s shamefull, really. I feel quite badly for all the athletes who played by the rules. It sucks to see this stuff happen, but on another note, it’s kind of funny. No, wait, really funny. China deserves all the negative publicity they’re getting. The IOC deserves to look like a bunch of morons.

No offense to the Chinese people, but boo to communism.
